Well it's been a few weeks since we have had any real significant snow fall, and after the thaw we could sure use a good storm. Before the thaw the Thunderbolt was the place to be. I rode the Bolt six times and the amount of people that were up there was amazing. As a matter of fact, the weekend before the thaw there was at least 60 plus people that we counted from Friday thru Sunday. Since then I have skied it once and although it can be done we need more snow to make it worthwhile. If you are in to Nordic skiing the trails are still pretty good. As for our local ice climbing venues its another story. It seems like most of the reliable routes never really came in but from what I have been seeing, this cold spell is going to help us out a lot. So with the lack of that good snow like what we had a few weeks ago and not that much ice I have had some extra time to work on my canoe project. I leave you with a picture of my dog and I testing out my new rando set up on the lower Thunderbolt last week, and a picture of my future canoe. Stay warm, keep busy, and have fun.
