February has been mostly a vacation month for us here at
Berkshire Backcountry. Chris was in Jackson and Salt Lake for the first couple of weeks. Then he came home long enough for us to climb at the Smugglers Notch Ice Bash. When that was over he flew back out to Oregon and while Chris was back out west I went up to North Conway for few more days of ice climbing. Now that I'm back home I have been skiing the ThunderBolt the past couple of days. It has been in real good shape despite all the traffic that it has been seeing. With all of the snow forecasted for tonight it will be really good for the next couple of days. So with the great conditions and a lot of snow coming down right now, you can bet that we will be seeing you out there soon. I leave you with a bunch of pictures from the last couple weeks of ice climbing.

It's been almost two weeks since my last post and we still haven't gotten any real snow. There actually is alittle more coverage than there was in my last photo, but what is there is bulletproof ice. We spent alot of time hiking on the mountain Sunday. On Monday I skied the bottom section of the Bolt but after the first turn I know I should left the skis at home. It rained today so I'm not sure what is left for snow. This is what the Bolt and the icy monument looked like on Sunday afternoon. All we can do now is pray that we get some good storms in February and March.
